Microsoft Windows on a Mac with VirtualBox (also tested on OS X Mountain Lion)

How to install Microsoft OS with VirtualBox. I have Vista's DVD but it's the same thing if you have XP, 7 etc. My Machine: Macbook (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRam) with Mac OS X 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard) Macbook (2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - 4 GB 1067 DDR3 SDRam) (Tested on OS X Lion with VirtualBox 4.1.0) www.yfrog.com Download VirtualBox from www.virtualbox.org 1) install Virtualbox with double click on"Virtualbox.mpkg" 2) enter your root password 3) Run Virtualbox and click on "New" 4) Enter name that you want for the Virtual Machine (I choose "Win") 5) Choose the OS (I have Vista's dvd therefore I choose Operating System "Microsoft Windows" and Version "Vista") 6) Select the amount of RAM to be allocated to the virtual machine (I have 4 GB of Ram and I choose to allocate 2 GB) 7) Create new hard disk (Dinamically expanding storage) and select the size of the virtual hard disk (I have about 60 GB free and I choose 20 GB) 8) Now the Virtual Machine is ready to run. Click on Start (with the Vista's dvd into the dvd-player and install it) Eject installation DVD. 9) Remember to install Guest Additions (see the 3:33) 10) If you want create a shared folders close "Win" and click on "Shared folders" (under "Details"). (I created the folder "WIN" in my desktop). Start the VM, click Start and go to Network. The folder is in "VBOXSVR". 11) In you want uninstall double click on "VirtualBox_uninstall.tool (you find it in Virtualbox's DMG) and remove the folder ...
